This article will guide you through how to use the Incident Permissions in the Accident Management System. From the Administration page, you are able to choose who can have access to an incident, be allocated an incident as well as who can also view and close incidents.
You can either walk through the steps in sequence or you can jump to the section that is relevant to you:

Incident Access Control
Selecting the Incident Access Control option after you click on Administration will present a list of all incident types that have been created on your system.
Each type of incident will be listed under the Incident type list shown on the left and the current status of access is shown on the right under Access type. To edit the access status click in to the link that shows under Access type.
Once you click the link, a drop down menu will allow you to select the type of access desired for your particular incident type.
Incident Allocation
Selecting the Incident Allocation tab under Administration shows you a drop down list of options of who could be allocated an incident once it is created. There are some pre-set options and also the chance to create a custom list of required. Simply select the preferred option and Save Setting.
Incident Viewing Permissions
Selecting the Incident Viewing Permissions tab will allow you to edit the settings and control who can view data for the various incident types on the Accident Management System. Click the Incident type to edit settings for that incident type.
By default a User can see all incidents they have logged, plus any that are allocated to them. Administrator users can see all incidents on the system. If you wish to allow an incident type to be viewed by someone who did not log it, or who does not have it allocated to them, use the settings below
There is also a few options here:
- Allow person reporting to view uploaded documents
- Allow person reporting to view investigations
- Allow person reporting to view Action Plans
- Show all incidents to Managers for users they are responsible for
Incident Closure Permissions
Selecting Incident Closure Permissions when you click on Administration, this enables you to set who should be able to close incidents. By default only administrators can close incidents but you can choose certain users or whole groups to be able to close incidents.
Each type of incident will be listed under the Incident type list shown on the left and the current status of access to close and incident. To edit the access this you will need to select the incident type from the list.
You will then be able to select either with group or individuals on the system, that you wish to allow to close incidents.
